Vincent Alonzo Austin
Former Riverhead resident Vincent Alonzo Austin of Manorville died Aug. 15 at the age of 38.
He was born Nov. 10, 1971, at Eastern Long Island Hospital in Greenport to Charles and Gloria Austin. He attended Eastport High School and taught himself how to fix and work with cars, later becoming a mechanic.
According to his family, “He had a love for animals, pork chops, Pacman and wearing his famous ‘shades.’ He was a very happy, stubborn, kind-hearted and sincere person.”
Predeceased by his mother, Mr. Austin is survived by his father and stepmother, Debra; 10 children, Shanea, Brittni, Brianna, Keyanna, Aliza, Star, Justin, Nathaniel, Kalib and Sean; and his siblings, Leslie, Victoria, Shanika, Charles Jr., Dashaun, Jermaine and Jerome.
The family received visitors Aug. 21 at Galilee Church of God in Christ in Riverhead prior to funeral services. Interment followed at Riverhead Cemetery. Arrangements were handled by Seay Memorial Chapel of Riverhead.
